Singapore Athlete Received Eye Treatment To Chase Rio Dream

Dr Nikolle Tan treated Mok Ying Ren for severe eye injuries after a freak accident during training.

The 2013 SEA Games marathon champion sustained severe injury to his right eye after being hit by a rebounding elastic band during a training session in Colorado. The impact resulted in a retinal tear which required urgent treatment.

Mok underwent treatment by Dr Nikolle Tan after returning to Singapore and the condition is expected to stabilize after the procedure.
